An aspiring author had a brilliant idea for a book. They eagerly sat down, and within a week, all the words were typed out on the page. Using technology like Grammarly to polish spelling and grammar, they then turned to Canva to design a captivating book cover. With these tools at their disposal, they launched their book on Amazon.
They didn't realize, what they called a "finished product" was actually just a rough draft. The only eyes that had glanced at the book were theirs.
Imagine their frustration when they exclaimed,
"Why isn't my book flying off the shelves?!"
The answer seems clear, doesn’t it?
Their "completed" book was still in its infancy, and in need of some polish.
On a similar note, consider an enthusiastic podcaster with a fresh idea. Within the same frantic week, they purchased a Rode Podmic USB, secured a media host (deciding Spotify wasn't the place for them), set up their Podpage, and designed some striking cover art on Canva. Their debut episode went live, shared among friends, but was only ever heard by their own ears.
And in a moment of confusion, they might ask,
"Why isn't my podcast topping the charts?!"
The reason is obvious: what they released was just a "rough draft."
Had they asked a truth telling friend to audit their episode and website, their podcast might have found a clearer path to success.
